    • 4 stk apples (firm, lightly tart — e.g. Ingrid Marie or Belle de Boskoop)
    • 2 spsk water or apple juice (for the dish)
  • Oat and nut filling

    • 50 g rolled oats
    • 40 g butter (soft)
    • 2 spsk honey
    • 1 tsk cinnamon
    • 30 g walnuts (chopped)
    • 20 g raisins (optional)
    • 1 knsp salt
  • To serve

    • 2 dl vanilla skyr or crème fraîche

    Prep and heat the oven

    1. Heat the oven to 180°C (conventional).
    2. Find an ovenproof dish where the apples can stand steadily.

    Prepare the apples

    1. Cut out the core with a small knife or corer — leave the bottom intact so the filling stays in.
    2. Set the apples in the dish and pour 2 tbsp water/apple juice into the base so they do not dry out.

    Mix the oat and nut filling

    1. Stir oats, soft butter, honey, cinnamon, walnuts, raisins (optional) and a pinch of salt together.
    2. The filling should be moist and hold when pressed — add 1 tsp extra honey if it feels dry.

    Fill the apples

    1. Spoon the filling into the apple cavities and press lightly so it stays put.
    2. Top with a small knob of butter if you want a more golden surface.

    Bake until tender and golden

    1. Bake about 25 minutes at 180°C (conventional), until tender but still holding shape.
