  • 1 stk Savoy cabbage
  • 500 g Ground beef or pork
  • 100 g Rice
  • 1 stk Onion, chopped
  • 1 tsk Sweet paprika
  • 400 g Chopped tomatoes
  • 400 ml Stock
  • 2 stk Bay leaves

    Blanch the cabbage leaves

    1. Separate 12 large cabbage leaves and blanch for 3 minutes in boiling water. Trim the thickest part of each rib flat.

    Fill and roll

    1. Mix the meat, rice, onion, paprika, salt, and pepper. Place a spoonful of filling on each leaf and roll tightly.

    Braise the sarma

    1. Pack the rolls snugly in a pot. Add tomatoes, stock, and bay leaves, then simmer covered for 75 minutes.
