Bosnian burek – meat-filled filo spiral
Crisp filo pastry wrapped around seasoned meat. Burek has roots and variations across the Balkans and beyond; this meat version follows a familiar Bosnian style while acknowledging the dish is also known in Serbia and Albania.

- 400 g Filo pastry
- 500 g Ground beef
- 2 stk Onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsk Sweet paprika
- 80 g Melted butter
- 200 g Plain yogurt
- 1 tsk Salt and black pepper

Make the filling
- Heat the oven to 200°C. Fry the onion and beef in a skillet until the meat is crumbly and cooked through. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.

Roll the burek
- Lay two filo sheets slightly offset, brush with butter, and place a line of filling along the long edge. Roll into a long rope and coil into a greased pan. Repeat.

Bake and serve
- Brush the top with the remaining butter. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until deeply golden and crisp. Serve with yogurt.
