    Simmer with potatoes and peppers

    1. Stir in the tomato paste and paprika briefly so it coats the meat – without letting it sit and scorch.
    2. Add potatoes, pepper, water, salt and pepper right away. Stir.
    3. Put the lid on and simmer over coals (not high flames) until the potatoes are tender – about 15–20 minutes. Stir from the bottom along the way, and add ½ dl water if it gets dry.

Tips

Preparation

  • Cut potatoes and peppers at home and pack them cool if you want less knife work by the fire.

Cooking

  • Stir more often if the embers are strong – that is when potatoes like to stick.

Serving

  • Serve straight from the pot. A piece of bread on the side is enough.

Variations

Flavor

  • If you have dried chili flakes, sprinkle a pinch in at the end.

Health

  • You can stretch the beef with a little more bell pepper and onion if you want the meat to go further.

Method

  • For more sauce, keep an extra ½ dl water and stir it in at the end.

Toppings

  • Fresh parsley
  • A grind of pepper
