Crispy, golden churros dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with warm, thick chocolate sauce. A Spanish street classic that works as dessert or a cosy snack.

Churros dough
- 2.5 dl Water
- 2 spsk Neutral oil
- 1 spsk Sugar
- 0.5 tsk Salt
- 150 g Flour
Cinnamon sugar
- 4 spsk Sugar
- 1 tsk Cinnamon
Chocolate sauce
- 100 g Dark chocolate (70%)
- 1 dl Heavy cream
- 1 spsk Sugar (optional)

Make the dough
- Bring water, oil, sugar, and salt to a boil in a saucepan.
- Remove the pan from heat. Add all the flour at once and stir quickly with a wooden spoon until the dough comes together and is smooth.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.

Fry the churros
- Heat oil to 180 °C (360 °F) in a pot. Pipe 10–12 cm lengths directly into the oil. Snip with scissors.
- Fry for 3–4 min until golden and crispy. Drain on kitchen paper.
- Toss the warm churros in cinnamon sugar.

Make the chocolate sauce
- Heat cream in a small saucepan. Add chocolate pieces and stir until melted and smooth.
- Add sugar if you want it sweeter.
