    • 14.1 oz Red kidney beans (cooked or canned)
    • 10.6 oz Long-grain rice
    • 2.8 oz Bacon or chorizo (optional)
    • 1 stk Onion
    • 3 fed Garlic
    • 1 tsp Ground cumin
    • 1 tbsp Olive oil
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • cup Water or stock

    Sauté base

    1. Sauté bacon/chorizo if using, then onion and garlic. Add cumin.

    Cook rice and beans

    1. Add rice, beans, and 600 ml water or stock (adjust if the beans are very wet). Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer covered for about 20–25 minutes until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed. Season with salt.
