- 2 fed Garlic
- 1 tsk Salt
- 0.5 tsk Black pepper
- 1 spsk Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions

Prep the potatoes
- Scrub the potatoes. Small ones can stay whole; cut larger ones into chunks.
- Crush or chop the garlic. Cut the butter into small cubes (or soften it briefly near the heat), and mix with garlic, salt and pepper.

Wrap in foil
- Divide the potatoes into 2–4 portions. Place each portion on sturdy foil (preferably double layer), and spread the garlic butter on top.
- Seal each pack tightly so the steam stays inside. A double layer is fine in strong coals.

Bake in the coals
- Place the packs in the coals – not in open flames. Turn them a couple of times.
- Bake 35–50 minutes until the potatoes are soft. Open carefully for steam.
- Scatter parsley over if you have it, and serve hot.

Suggestions
- • Serve hot straight from the foil or pan.
Storage
Fresh
- • Duration: 1 days
- • Temperature: 5°C
- • Method: Best eaten the same day. Cool leftovers and keep in the fridge for up to a day.
Frozen
- • Duration: 30 days
- • Temperature: -18°C
- • Method: Leftovers can be frozen for up to a month. Thaw in the fridge, then warm gently.
Reheating
- • Pot: Warm gently in a pot or pan over low heat.
Tips
Preparation
- • Use heavy foil, or two layers – it holds up better in the coals.
Cooking
- • Coals give even heat. Flames scorch the foil without softening the middle.
Serving
- • Open the pack like a bowl so the butter gathers at the bottom.
Variations
Flavor
- Add a sprig of rosemary or thyme in the pack.
Health
- Use a little less butter for a lighter pack.
Method
- Without butter: 2 spsk oil and garlic also work.
Toppings
- Flaky salt
