    • 15.9 oz Wheat flour
    • about 0.2 oz Dry yeast
    • cup Lukewarm water
    • tsp Salt
    • 1 tsp Sugar
    • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • Garlic butter

    • 3.5 oz Butter (softened)
    • 4 fed Garlic (pressed)
    • 2 tbsp Parsley (chopped)

    Mix and knead the dough

    1. Stir water, dry yeast, sugar and olive oil together in a bowl.
    2. Add flour and salt a little at a time and bring the dough together.
    3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

    Let the dough rise

    1. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm spot for about 60 minutes, until noticeably puffed.

    Shape the baguettes and let them proof

    1. Divide the dough in 2 and shape into long baguettes.
    2. Place them on a baking tray with baking paper and cover with a tea towel.
    3. Proof for 30 minutes.

    Bake the baguettes

    1. Bake at 220°C for 15–18 minutes, until golden and crispy.
    2. Let them cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes so the crust sets.

    Mix the garlic butter

    1. Stir softened butter with garlic and parsley until evenly combined.

    Fill and gratinate

    1. Cut the baguettes into slices almost all the way through, so they still hold together at the bottom.
    2. Spread garlic butter into the slits.
    3. Return to the oven at 200°C for 5–7 minutes, until the butter bubbles and the bread is extra crispy.
