  • Refried beans

    • 2 stk cans pinto beans (400 g each), drained
    • 2 tbsp oil
    • 1 stk onion, finely diced
    • 2 fed garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • about 0.4 cup water or broth
    • ½ tsp salt

    Sauté onion and garlic

    1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté onion for 3-4 minutes until soft.
    2. Add garlic and cumin, cook for 30 seconds.

    Mash the beans

    1. Add the drained beans and water/broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
    2. Mash the beans with a potato masher or fork to desired consistency. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes until creamy and thick.
    3. Season with salt and serve immediately.

Tips
