Outdoor couscous with chickpeas and tomato on a Trangia
A filling outdoor meal you can make almost anywhere. Couscous only needs boiling water, and chickpeas with tomato give a warm, steady base for the trip.

Couscous
- 150 g Couscous
- 2 dl Water
- 0.5 tsk Salt
Tomato and chickpeas
- 1 dåse Chickpeas
- 1 dåse Chopped tomatoes
- 1 spsk Olive oil
- 1 tsk Paprika or chili flakes
- 0.5 tsk Salt
- 0.3 tsk Pepper

Boil water
- Bring 2 dl water to a boil in a pot.
- Add salt to the water.

Make the couscous
- Take the pot off the heat and stir in the couscous, or pour the boiling water over couscous in a bowl.
- Cover and let the couscous sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the couscous with a spoon.

Warm tomato and chickpeas
- Drain the liquid from the chickpeas.
- Add chickpeas and chopped tomatoes to the pot with olive oil.
- Season with paprika, salt and pepper.
- Heat through for 5–10 minutes.

Combine the dish
- Fold the couscous into the tomato and chickpea mixture.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
