    Prepare the vegetables

    1. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly. Clean the leeks and cut them into slices.

    Butter the dish

    1. Butter an oven-safe dish and layer potatoes and leeks alternately.
    2. Sprinkle lightly with salt, pepper and nutmeg between the layers.

    Pour over the cream

    1. Pour the cream evenly over the vegetables so it nearly covers them.
    2. Press lightly on top to make sure the cream distributes evenly.

    Bake the dish

    1. Bake the potato dish in the oven until the potatoes are tender and the surface is golden.
